Who Is Eligible:  Anyone who was on any Rotary Western or Eastern Adventure between 2000 and 2008 run by McMurray Travel Service. This includes Chaperones and group leaders. Daily Itinerary

Day 1 - July 15, 2009 – Los Angeles: You'll arrive today in LAX and transfer to our airport hotel by hotel shuttle.    If you come in earlier, you can meet up with us and tour LA for the day.  Otherwise you’ll be able to rest up after your long over water flight.

Day 2 – July 16, 2009 – Los Angeles:  This morning we’ll bus down to Anaheim for a day at Disneyland.  Smaller than its other sisters, Disneyland was the first and most famous park which was based on a theme.  It is smaller and can be comfortably seen in one day.   Walk from “land to land” enjoying an exciting fun experience.  If you are bringing children they will love it.  This evening we’ll wander down Sunset Boulevard, where “free spirits” and cutting edge blend into a truly unique experience.

Day 3 – July 17, 2009 – San Francisco:  Today we’ll drive up the backbone of California to San Francisco. Arriving in late afternoon, enjoy Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39, where you can find a great meal and some memorable shopping and sightseeing.  

Day 4 – July 18, 2009 – San Francisco: Today is a sighting trip around San Francisco, including a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge.  This afternoon if you want join us for an optional trip to Alcatraz, or sightsee on your own or with friends. 

Day 5- July 19, 2009 – Elko NV: This morning we’ll drive across the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Reno, where we’ll stop for lunch. (Reno was where boys stayed up watching chorus girls most of the night in 2000).  A long driving day, we’ll end the evening in Elko, Nevada at the Casino hotel. 

Day 6- July 20, 2009 – West Yellowstone: A drive in the Desert brings us to the Rocky Mountains and the gateway to Yellowstone National Park.  Yellowstone is the oldest national park and a place of amazing natural wonders.  If you didn’t see a bear on your first trip, you have a better chance of seeing one on this trip

Day 7 – July 21 , 2009 – West Yellowstone, MT:  We’ll be exploring Yellowstone today looking for animals and amazing at the natural beauty of the place.  We’ll go to Mammoth and Artist Point, come down through the animal heavy areas of Haines Valley and Towers.   We are going to go places you might not have seen on your previous trip.

Day 8 – July 22,2009 –  Salt Lake City:  Our drive today will take us through Grand Teton National Park with a stop at Jenny Lake and then we’ll spend a little time for lunch in Jackson Hole.  This afternoon we hope to stop at the Oregon Trail Museum in Montpelier ID and drive to Temple Square and then to Provo for the evening.  

Day 9 – July 23, 2009 – Moab:  A morning drive brings us to Arches National Park and a hike to Windows and then to Twin Arches. Beautiful scenery and great photo opportunities make this a wonderful trip.  This evening enjoy the night life and ambiance of this lively city.

Day 10 – July 24, 2009 – Moab: This morning we’ll take a three hour White Water Rafting adventure on the Little Colorado River.  Framed by majestic cliffs and massive stone buttes, this both exciting and relaxing.  Everyone will get wet and there are some solid Class 3 Rapids on this trip, which is run by one of the best companies in the USA.  This afternoon take advantage of some optional tours, including Mountain Biking in the Mountain Biking Capital of the USA, Jeep Tours of the desert and a number of other adventures.  This evening enjoy another great night of fun pubs and good restaurants.

Day 11 – July 25, 2009 – Page:  Today enjoy a jeep ride of Monument Valley conducted by Navaho Guides.  This is a photographer’s dream, with photo opportunities everywhere you look.  The view from John Ford Point is really great.   Tonight we’ll be in Page AZ on Lake Powell.  The view from the pool is killer.

Day 12 – July 26, 2009 – Bryce:  This morning we’ll visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to enjoy the grandeur of a place so large you can see it from space.  The north rim is filled with wildlife and beauty. Later we’ll drive today to Bryce Canyon National Park. We are going to hike the Navaho Loop trail which takes you through some of the most spectacular rock formations in this incredibly beautiful park.  Tonight we’ll see the most beautiful romantic sky you’ve ever seen if the weather is clear. 

Day 13 – July 27, 2009 – Las Vegas:  Today we’ll drive to Las Vegas.  Tonight we’ll enjoy the wonders of “Sin City” with amazing casinos and shows and fun.  You have to be 21 to gamble, but if you are 21, enjoy.

Day 14 – July 28, 2009 – Las Vegas:  A full day to enjoy Vegas.  This is the city which never sleeps and has no clocks.  Try some of the amazing buffets, trendy restaurants, or spectacular clubs.  This is the town which has the best nightlife in the world.

Day 15 – July 29, 2009 – Home and Away:  Today we’ll take off for home having met old friends and made new friends from former exchange students.

Does not include flights. Must arrive in Los Angeles before or on July 15 and return from Las Vegas on or after July 29.

Airline Requirements
  • You must book your own flights (Tour does not include Airline Tickets).
  • You must fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) arriving on or before July 15, 2009.
  • You must fly out of Las Vegas (LAS) departing on July 29 or after. 

Cancellation Penalties: Individual tour members canceling from the tour for any reason will be charged the following percentages of the tour price. 60-15 days prior 25% of tour cost plus applicable supplier penalties, 14 Days prior until return 100% of tour cost per participant.
