Thursday, June 11, 2009:   Flagstaff, Arizona:  Flying from your home cities (included in tour price) with a very early morning departure, we will arrive in Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport in the late morning.  This afternoon, time permitting, we’ll stop in the beautiful resort city of Sedona.  Surrounded by beautiful Red Rock Canyon Sedona is a world class resort city in an amazing setting.  Tonight we stay in the high desert city of Flagstaff on world famous Route 66.  (CB)

Friday, June 12, 2009:  Kanab, Utah  - An early morning drive through the mountains takes us to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  A 3.1 mile hike along the rim will give you countless opportunities to take pictures of this amazingly beautiful wonder of the world.    We’ll be stopping at Mather Point and late at Desert View for some great pictures.  We’ll drive through the beautiful desert along the Colorado River.  Tonight we’ll stay in Bryce at the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park.

 Saturday, June 13, 2009: Torrey, Utah – In Bryce Canyon, we’ll hike the famous Navajo Loop trail down into the gorgeous orange rock formations of Bryce Canyon.  After the hike we’ll drive along the Camelback “Million Dollar Highway” Mail Road towards Capitol Reef National Park and Torrey Utah.  Enroute on this one-of-a-kind highway,  you’ll see the  phenomenal beauty of the Grand Staircase National Monument. If the weather is right, you can see over 200 miles from the 3000 meter summit . Tonight we stay in scenic Torrey at the Gateway of Capitol Reef National Park.   (CB)

Sunday, June 14, 2009: Pocatello, Idaho  – We’ll drive up the heart of Utah past one of the World’s Largest Copper Mines, into Salt Lake City, Capital of Utah and home of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints…the Mormons.  We’ll stop at Temple Square for a tour of this which could be considered the Vatican of this 13,000,000 member world wide religion.   After our tour we’ll drive up past the Great Salt Lake into Southern Idaho.  Crossing the pioneer route called the Oregon Trail we’ll spend the night in Pocatello. 

 Monday, June 15, 2009;  West Yellowstone, MT – A morning drive takes us into the Teton Range and Jackson Hole.  We’ll proceed into Grand Teton National Park and to String Lake where we’ll take a 3 mile hike around beautiful String Lake.  Climbing up the side of a mountain, on this trip in the past we have seen bear, elks and numerous other animals.  We'll continue driving through Yellowstone National Park to rustic West Yellowstone, MT.  Tuesday, June 16, 2009:  West Yellowstone, MT – We’ll  be visiting the amazing Yellowstone National Park, America's best loved and the oldest National Park in the world.  Today we'll explore the famous Old Faithful Geyser, West Thumb (on Lake Yellowstone), the Calcium hot springs at Mammoth and all types of wild animals. Including Bison (American Buffalo), deer, antelope, coyotes, and in past years even bears.  This is a great place. Today we'll be taking many pictures. We will be walking around boiling hot geysers and hot springs. (CB)

 Wednesday, June 17, 2009:  Buffalo/Sheridan WY – This Morning we’ll see the most beautiful place in Yellowstone, Artist Point.  Located in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, it’s yellow color (from sulphurous rock) gave the part it’s name.  This afternoon we have an amazing drive through places like Cody, founded by famous cowboy and Wild West Lawman, Wild Bill Cody, the Eastern Plains of Wyoming and in real cowboy country.  Time permitting we want to go to the Little Big Horn, site of the massacre of General George Custer and his soldiers in 1876. Thursday, June 18, 2009:  Cheyenne WY -  For the first time we are visiting Mt. Rushmore National Monument.   The Faces of Presidents Lincoln, Washington, Roosevelt and Jefferson was carved into the side of a mountain in the South Dakota bad lands. We also hope to stop at Wind Caves National Park, time permitting.  (CB)

Friday, June 19, 2009:  Denver:  We are planning on visiting Rocky Mountain National Park today.  An old National Park it has some of the Rocky Mountain’s best vistas.  We also are stopping in the “Mile High City”, Denver Colorado.  One of the liveliest and most dynamic cities in the USA we want to tour some of the more interesting parts and give you a little free time. Saturday, June 20, 2009: Moab -  A morning drive across some of the most awesome mountain vistas  anywhere in the world will take us back into Utah and a visit to Arches National Park in Utah.  We are planning a hike at “Windows” which is a fantastic walk. Arches National Park consisting of many natural arches carved from the rock by wind and rain as well as other rock formations.   This even we’ll stay in Moab.  A popular place to make movies and the world’s center of extreme mountain biking.   

 Sunday, June 21, 2009:  Cortez -  This morning we’ll drive through the mountains to Silverton, an old Mining Town isolated from much of the world, except for a twisty mountain highway.  We’ll have lunch here and give you free time to shop and buy those last minute souvenirs.  This town is also served by one of the last steam trains in the USA from Durango.  We’ll give you some free time in Durango before going to our hotel in the town of Cortez.  Cortez has a nightly Native American Dancing exhibition.  Tonight we’ll be exchanging pins and cards.  (CB)

Monday, June 22, 2009:  Cortez -  A pretty short drive takes us to Mancos, Colorado and Mesa Verde National Park.  This is the site of the most famous ancient Native American cliff dwellings.  The “Anasazi” or Ancient Ones, lived 3,000 meters up on a bluff in a huge society with many hundreds of houses hanging from the sides of cliffs.  You will be allowed to walk down and enter one of these ancient dwellings.  The views from the tops of the mountains is amazing.    This afternoon we’ll be White Water Rafting on the Lower Animus River near the old Western Town of Durango.   Mostly class 2 and class 3 rapids it is a fun river in a beautiful setting. Tuesday, June 23, 2009:  Page – We’ll drive to Monument Valley this morning.  This afternoon we’ll enjoy a Navaho Indian Taco for lunch and learn about the lore of the valley from Navaho Indian guides on a Jeep ride through the valley.  You have seen this valley in countless commercials, TV shows and movies worldwide.  It is one of the most beautiful places on earth.  Tonight before checking into our hotel we’ll stop at the amazing Glen Canyon Dam, which blocks the Colorado River and creates Lake Powell.  The 7th highest dam in the world it is a quiet oasis.  Our hotel tonight, the Arizona Inn has an amazing view of Lake Powell and Glen Canyon.  Wednesday, June 24, 2009:  Las Vegas -  This morning we’ll drive to Las Vegas arriving early this afternoon.  We’ll get there in early afternoon and we’ll give you a quick tour of the famous Las Vegas Strip.  Our hotel is walking distance from the strip and you’ll have a chance to explore the strip with your friends. During free time we ask that you stay in groups of four or more.  There is a 9 pm curfew so allow time to say goodbye to the best friends you’ll ever make from the trip.

 Thursday, June 25, 2009: Home – This morning we’ll transfer to the airport for our flights home (included).  Intensely emotional our goodbyes bring tears from everyone including the chaperones.

 While every effort has been made to guarantee our tour prices for 2009, due to recent oil price increases and fluctuations each tour may be subject to airline and Motorcoach fuel surcharges before departure).  We sincerely regret this, and do our best to avoid it if at all possible.

Tour Cancellation and Reservation Change Policies:

Individual tour members canceling from the tour for any reason will be charged the following percentages of the tour price. 60-15 days prior (April 7, 2009 - May 26, 2009)  25% of tour cost plus applicable supplier penalties, 14 Days prior (May 25, 2009 at 5:00pm EDT)  until return 100% of tour cost per participant. No shows are non-refundable. If you don't arrive in our meeting point city on the day the tour starts you are a no show.  Anyone missing their flight will have to proceed to the next stop of the tour, at their own expense by the best available conveyance. It is your responsibility to know which airport you are flying from.  Read Your Ticket Long Before Leaving!!!  Hotel and supplier penalties above this will be passed on to canceling tour member, not roommates.  Due to strict cancellation penalties charged by airlines, hotels, motor coach companies, etc. and the possibility of illness and death of tour participants and family members, we strongly suggest purchase of optional travel insurance (Rates vary, but cost is approximately $90).
